Fiscal Responsibility
Senator Hassan has always made maintaining fiscal responsibility and improving innovation and efficiency within government a top priority.
During her time as Governor, Senator Hassan enacted two fiscally responsible, balanced budgets that protected critical economic priorities for Granite Staters while holding the line against a sales or an income tax.
Senator Hassan has brought this same focus on fiscal responsibility, innovation, and efficiency in government spending to the U.S. Senate, advocating for biennial budgeting at the federal level to enhance oversight of taxpayer dollars. She is also working to increase transparency and efficiency in federal programs in order to cut wasteful government spending and to ensure that federal dollars are being put to their best use.
