WASHINGTON – Veterans Service Organization leaders applauded the return of the POW/MIA flag to atop the White House last week, marking the end of a nearly year-long effort to again fly the POW/MIA flag above the White House with the American flag. The raising of the flag followed bipartisan efforts led by U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan (D-NH), a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Tom Cotton (R-AR) to restore the POW/MIA flag above the White House.

Senator Hassan Visits Portsmouth Fire Station to Discuss COVID Relief She Secured for Fire Fighters in American Rescue Plan

NH Delegation Welcomes $18 Million to Support Affordable Housing through the American Rescue Plan

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that New Hampshire will receive $18 million in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding through the American Rescue Plan to expand affordable housing and homelessness services. The funding allocated through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is part of a $5 billion commitment to deliver assistance to states and communities to expand access to new affordable housing, rental assistance, supportive services and non-congregate shelter units. A senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Shaheen supported the inclusion of these funds during negotiations for the American Rescue Plan.

Senator Hassan Pushes for Action to Combat Scammers Who Are Using the COVID-19 Pandemic to Defraud Granite Staters and Americans

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan is pushing the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to use the funding that Congress provided in the American Rescue Plan to help combat scammers who are using the COVID-19 pandemic to defraud Americans. The Federal Trade Commission has recorded 1,461 reports in New Hampshire of pandemic-related fraud, identity theft, and other scams with a cumulative loss to Granite Staters of $954,000. These reported scams sharply increase in mid-March 2020, with spikes in early January 2021 and March 15, 2021.

Senator Hassan Visits Lamprey Health Care and Nashua Fire Station 4 to Discuss COVID-19 Relief Funding

NASHUA — Yesterday, U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan visited Lamprey Health Care to see its Mobile Health Unit, which was purchased through funding that the center received through the federal CARES Act. The Mobile Health Unit is providing critical primary health, as well as COVID testing and vaccinations, to underserved communities in Nashua and on the Seacoast. Senator Hassan recently joined the rest of the delegation in announcing that New Hampshire received an additional $20 million in vaccine funding for New Hampshire community health centers, including more than $3 million to Lamprey Health Care.

NH Delegation Announces $564K in Emergency Funding for NH State Veterans Home to Protect Residents & Staff from COVID-19

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that the New Hampshire State Veterans Home will receive $564,287 in emergency funding to prevent, combat and mitigate COVID-19 in the facility.
