CONCORD – Senator Maggie Hassan today spoke at a Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire luncheon, where she highlighted her bipartisan efforts in the Senate to help ensure that Granite State businesses have the support they need to grow and thrive, including working to build a stronger workforce and expand opportunity for hard-working Granite Staters.

“The business community’s efforts to support our high quality of life and the vibrant economy in New Hampshire are critical to our shared future,” Senator Hassan said. “In the Senate, I am working to build on the bipartisan progress we made during my time as Governor to expand middle class opportunity, support innovative small businesses, and keep our citizens and our nation safe. We all must continue to work together to advance economic opportunity and include more people in our shared prosperity.”

The Senator spoke out against President Trump’s reckless budget proposal that would cut critical economic priorities and stifle economic growth in New Hampshire. Senator Hassan also highlighted several bipartisan measures she has supported to help ensure that Granite State businesses have the workforce they need to succeed, including the JOBS Act, LEAP Act, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Excellence and Equity Act. In addition, the first bill Senator Hassan introduced was the Reigniting Opportunity for Innovators (ROI) Act, which would help provide the student loan debt relief necessary for young entrepreneurs to start up and grow innovative small businesses.

The Business and Industry Association serves as New Hampshire’s statewide chamber of commerce and as an advocate for businesses across the state. For more information, visit http://www.biaofnh.com/
