President Signs Into Law Bipartisan Legislation Cosponsored by Senator Hassan to Help Combat Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Types of Dementia

WASHINGTON – President Trump this week signed into law bipartisan legislation cosponsored by Senator Maggie Hassan that will create a public health infrastructure to help combat Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

“This week’s bill signing represents a major victory for all of the Granite Staters and Americans who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia,” Senator Hassan said. “This law will establish centers of excellence to help support caregivers and inform the public about these exceedingly common conditions to improve early detection, treatment, and care. We know that there is still far more work to do to combat this public health crisis, and I will continue working to help those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia as well as their loved ones.”

The bipartisan Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure (BOLD) for Alzheimer’s Act, will help strengthen early detection and diagnosis efforts and help support caregivers by creating centers of excellence that would apply a public health approach to addressing Alzheimer’s and educating caregivers and the public about the disease.
