Senator Hassan Announces New Leadership Position on Subcommittee Focused on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan announced today that she will serve as the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management. In her new leadership position, Senator Hassan will play a key role in ensuring that taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely and working to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. Senator Rand Paul serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee.

“I am excited about this new role, which will allow me to continue my longstanding focus on ensuring fiscal responsibility and rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse,” Senator Hassan said. “I look forward to working with Senator Rand Paul on bipartisan efforts to make government more efficient and effective for hard-working Granite Staters and Americans.”
