Senator Hassan Asks Granite Staters to Share Their Experiences at Methadone Clinics in New Hampshire Community Survey

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Health Care, today launched a community survey to learn more about the experiences that Granite Staters have had with methadone clinics in New Hampshire. The survey asks Granite Staters who have received treatment at a methadone clinic or have worked at one to anonymously share their experiences. The confidential responses will inform Senator Hassan’s work to expand access to medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.

“As the fentanyl crisis continues to devastate families and communities across New Hampshire, people need to be able to get the life-saving addiction treatment that is right for them,” said Senator Hassan. “If you or a loved one have received treatment from or worked at a methadone clinic, I would love to hear from you. By completing the survey, you can convey your experiences and support our work to connect Granite Staters to the treatment that they need.”

This survey is part of Senator Hassan’s overall efforts to expand access to medication-assisted treatment, which includes methadone and buprenorphine. Medication-assisted treatment is considered the gold standard for opioid addiction treatment, as it helps people recover and significantly decreases the likelihood of relapse.
