BEDFORD - Today, Senator Maggie Hassan spoke at the New Hampshire Forum on the Future Breakfast, where she highlighted the importance of workforce development to supporting job-creating businesses, expanding economic opportunity, and keeping the economy moving forward.

Organized by the New Hampshire College & University Council in collaboration with the New Hampshire High Technology Council and the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy, the forum showcased key initiatives underway in New Hampshire to build a stronger, more educated and more innovative workforce to meet the demands of the changing economy.

"Ensuring that young Granite Staters are equipped with the skills and innovative thinking needed for jobs of the 21st century economy is critical to the success of our businesses, our economy, and our entire state," Senator Hassan said. "The Forum on the Future Breakfast is an important opportunity to highlight key initiatives underway in New Hampshire to help our young people and our businesses succeed. I am working to support those efforts by finding ways to expand economic opportunity for all of our people while building the highly skilled workforce our innovative businesses need to grow and thrive."

The first bill Senator Hassan wrote was the Reigniting Opportunity for Innovators (ROI) Act, which would help provide the relief necessary for entrepreneurs to start up and grow innovative small businesses. Additionally, Senator Hassan has cosponsored a number of bipartisan bills specifically focused on strengthening the workforce and expanding opportunity for hard-working Granite Staters, including the JOBS Act, LEAP Act, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Excellence and Equity Act.
