Senator Hassan Statement on Comprehensive COVID-19 Relief Moving Forward in the Senate
Package Includes Key Provisions Authored by Senator Hassan to Support New & Small Businesses
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) released the following statement after voting to advance legislation to provide comprehensive COVID-19 relief to Granite Staters and Americans:
“Granite Staters have told me that they need additional relief from this pandemic, and I am glad we took a step forward today in getting a comprehensive relief bill passed. This package contains critical priorities for New Hampshire, including significant public health support that will strengthen vaccine distribution, bring down health care costs, and assist health care providers. It also delivers direct relief to individuals and families and additional support for small businesses -- including my bill to open up relief to new businesses. It has critical aid for state and local governments to prevent layoffs of public safety personnel and teachers and help hold property taxes down. Importantly, the package also has federal resources for our schools that will support in-person learning. We now must move forward with this package so that we can get much-needed relief out the door as quickly as possible.”
