Senator Hassan Statement on Retirement of State Senator Martha Fuller Clark

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan released the below statement following the announcement that New Hampshire State Senator Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth) will be retiring at the end of her current term in the New Hampshire State Senate.

“I am deeply grateful to Martha Fuller Clark for her friendship and her years of dedicated service to the people of the Seacoast and our entire state. Serving alongside her when I was in the State Senate and as Governor, I saw firsthand her effectiveness in working to expand opportunity and protect the rights of all Granite Staters, preserve our cherished natural resources, and support the arts. She also helped pave the way for countless women in politics in New Hampshire, including me. While I know that she will be missed at the State House, particularly as our state navigates the tough road ahead in recovering from this pandemic, I know that Martha will continue to make a difference for the people of our state in whatever she does.”
