Senator Hassan's Statement on Linda McMahon's Confirmation to Serve as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration

WASHINGTON - Today, Senator Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after voting to confirm Linda McMahon as the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration:

"New Hampshire's small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating high-quality goods and services that spur economic development and create good-paying jobs. The Small Business Administration plays an important role in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses in New Hampshire and across the country, and I was relieved that under questioning from Senator Shaheen, Ms. McMahon acknowledged the importance of the SBA's work and the need to preserve the SBA as a cabinet-level, standalone agency. In addition, given Ms. McMahon's involvement with Women's Leadership Live - an organization that encourages female entrepreneurship - I'm hopeful she will be a strong advocate for women in business and for bringing more voices to the small business community. I look forward to working with Ms. McMahon and members of both parties to ensure that our small businesses have the support they need to grow and thrive in our 21st century economy."
