WASHINGTON - Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on Attorney General William Barr's summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report:
"I thank Special Counsel Robert Mueller for conducting a thorough investigation into the facts surrounding Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and whether the President of the United States committed obstruction of justice.
"The Special Counsel’s investigation has resulted in indictments against 34 individuals and three companies, including six of the President’s former advisers. Seven of the individuals who were charged have pleaded guilty and five have been sentenced so far.
“The full Mueller report and its underlying evidence need to be made public; a summary written by the Attorney General appointed by the President to oversee this investigation will not suffice."
